cookies!

i made peanut butter cookies tonight and i’m not very happy with them. cookies aren’t so much fun- not like pie!!! it’s been ages since i had pie. where’s the muffin man with the pie when i want it? at least i’ve been getting muffins more often than before.

oh well… i’m sleepy and a log. i think next week i’m going to fix to go out with the co-workers. i need to fix my bike up first though. i should ask my buddy matt from sacto for help. oh… he should be in town this weekend. how convienent.

ok. less video, more game. i think i’m sleeping in.

gwen dibley’s horse, spoon, and basin

i’m knitting and watching the directors’ commentary of the most overplayed cult comedy ever- monty python’s holy grail. my cousin and i argued about this last week- she says life of brian is funnier and holy grail is lame in comparisant. she’s sorta right but also she’s missing the point. holy grail is a great film. maybe i appreciate it so much because i understand what they were going for, not just the base comedy (with which my cousin is only concerned). i still think it’s been over played. i understand what my mother meant when i ruined it for her when i was 12. i’ve yelled at girls in theaters for quoting it. the easiest way to make me think you’re a wang is to try and recite bits of the film (-200 points for the french knight, -300 for the knights who say ni, -50000 for the black knight scene), but as far as a treatment and reflection of modern opinions about the middle ages, it’s great! maybe this is just my love for medieval history and my equal love of absurd historical analysis. i don’t know, but the commentary is great. actually i should say terry jones’ commentary is great. terry gilliam’s is ok, but terry jone’s is one of the funniest people ever and the care he brings to historical analysis and accuracy is endearing.

maybe after this i’ll watch it again with the eric idle/john cleese/michael palin commentary. who knows though. i can pretty much tell you all right now i won’t really care about anything eric idle or john cleese says- they’re funny enough i guess, but their personalities outside of character grate on me. at the same time though, michael palin is one of the people i most want to meet/admire, and as such can do no wrong. (he studied history you know!)

back to knitting.

casual friday? casual everyday!

i turned down the job at the hair salon. i am no longer a studen employee either. i’m “casual”. what ever- i’m just working up to being full time, which should be sometime in june. hooray! i like my job and i’m happy to get more hours and possible full time work.

i’m still mid-migraine and still slightly pukey.

first day of bio 25a at vista was boring and easy. i made two sorta friends who were impressed by my knitting. this should be an easy but tedious class. i’m also auditing advanced topics in german morphology this semester with my favourite professor. that will be awesome. i hope he’ll let me do research.

i’m also going to take up drawing. i want to be an artist.

i gotta puke.

rassismus- immer noch?

david kaspar, who has one of my favourite blogs, is talking about it idiocy of the german magazine stern, which has published this article describing condoleezza rice’s role to the president as that of master/slave. i think kaspar does a good job piecing this apart for non-german readers. to think this is some how acceptable in germany? i’m not a huge fan of ms. rice, and was called a racist for it, but this is simplistic and offensive.

all this whilst barbara boxer impresses me with her tough questioning of ms. rice during the confirmation hearings. what is somebody with a taste for nuance supposed to do?

best band ever

i’ve decided to make a t-shirt that says something to the effect of: sweet baby is the best band ever. but the question is- should it just be sweet baby, or sweet baby jesus? hmm. i need to decide. i keep having these weird dreams involving sweet baby. i blame that crappy commercial for queer eye. oh well, it could be worse i suppose.

my belly is damn full from all this nacho action.

the thing about slightly paralyzing person problems is, that they just get in the way of everything.

“is it because i’m a lesbian?”

tonight’s episode of law & order was horrible and had the worst ending ever. i’m happy that sutherland was fired (well, i’m happy that elisabeth röhm is no longer on the show), but simultaneously coming out to branch and possibly complaning about discrimination was too much for me to take. seriously, who knew (or cared) that the character was a lesbian? is law & order trying to be as bad as er?

today i found out that the head of my library is the cousin of my mom’s brother’s best friend. this just proves that it all goes back to carmichael.

this article makes me hope that baseball won’t be so lame anymore.

i’m still in snot-land, i guess that makes me a snot. i’ll speak snots gaelic. man, i’m funny.

sick mouth= yuckmouth

have you ever had that nasty taste in your mouth when you’re sick that just won’t go away? i feel more alert, but my mouth tastes like ass and repeated attempts to remedy the situation (brushing my teeth, scraping my tongue) seem to fail. now nothing tastes normal and i have sick mouth. i should just boil some more water and drill a hole in my sinus.

oh man! somebody on the real world has scabies? how funny is that? i thought the only people who got scabies these days were the kids who make out on gilman couches.

i am going to do something tomorrow. i need to get out of my pjs. i’m funky.

alles gute!

in high school, herr made us watch these über cheesy videos to help us learn some grammar called alles gute!. i don’t remember really learning much, other than that marzipan is what lübeck is famous for (other than reynke de vos and the hansa). anyhow… there’s this german professor who’s explaining relative clauses and simple german phonetics as well. i wish i had this 7 years ago! oh well, i understand it now, i guess that’s the point.

i wish i owned alles gute! we used to make fun of it so much. i wish that i could remember all of their names. max was the wild, young, “cool” one. amelie is the young “hott” chick.

hooray! they’re showing the little film about nürmberg! i remember this one, it’s not as cool as the one with der stau- a traffic jam on the autobahn where people got out of their cars and had a picnic (comeplete with brat kid playing the clarinet!). this film, instead, is about an idiotic (and not very good looking couple) working at hopps farm to raise money for a holiday to the baltic sea. west germans knew how to party in the 80s.

oh well. time to cough up a lung.

hard snot is the nastiest thing in the world

i’m still sick wanting to die. well, not really, but i’m still doing bad. i have that solid type of snot backed up in my ears and throat. i can still breath, but i can’t really swallow or hear. i’m feeling really woozy and slightly feverish. this is the life, i tell you. i think i should stay home again.

instead of playing a but load of animal crossing (it only needs an hour a day or so), i’m going to finish my book about charlamagne and then go back and read some of notker’s works in old high german. i miss it, i really do. i’m also looking for other things to read, but maybe i should just relax and get my bio books for class for next week.

ok. on to the juicy stuff- i had an interview at a hair salon. i need to finish reading the packet to determine whether or not i still want the job, but it sounds like it’s going to be a mine for drama, attitude, and stories. i won’t have a weekend anymore, but i’ll be paid for it instead. the owner who interviewed me seemed really fun and made the place sound crazy. i hope they like me enough to hire me. she didn’t seem to mind that i wasn’t glamour. she said, “don’t let the glamour queens get you down.” she also made me want to shave my head again. she had nice short hair. for her, healthy hair and the client’s self esteem is what matters, not the glamour. it’s close to home, which is good, and seemed to be a nice slightly upscale hair salon. i could get highlights. we’ll see.

this francing diet of hot water isn’t helping my head too much, but it’s keeping my kidney’s clean.

strap ‘em up!

i had a job interview today with a bank. i had to get all business looking and turn on my charm. who knows if i’ll actually get the job though.

i got home and put on my sweat suit (completet with stains from my misadventure with salad dressing when i got the call for the interview) and turned into a vegetable. joe and i watched the arm wrestling world championships. so much testosterone. guys and their sweaty hands, strapped in like gang wariors. i can’t believe it was on espn!

then i played animal crossing. man… that’s my new exciting life. it’s sad, but i’m hooked.

oh, and for all you thee kendrak attack fans… check out thee first ever tka mp3s yea-ming is hosting for douchebangs.

gotta go back to the ac.
